Kate, personally, I would not encourage anyone to eat sweet fruit only. Not that because it cannot be done (Anne Osborne is an example that it can be done), but because greens and veggies contain nutrients (eg minerals) which may be hard to obtain on a sweet fruit diet if one lives in a non-tropical area. There are many reported cases of people becoming deficient when trying to be strict and forcing oneself to follow a prescriptive approach. I think flexibility is the key. So I would say, if you have access to a wide variety of great quality, organic, tree-ripen, home-grown fruit, and feel great on fruit only, then go for it. But if you crave greens for example, then do not force yourself to eat fruit only. Also, every day is different, and our needs and desires may vary. So it's good to respond to those changing needs.
